Sastur Hospital

"Built by the PRIDE India NGO, the vision of the Sastur hospital is to ensure community welfare and healthcare for the disadvantaged in this earthquake prone zone"

Sited on a 10 acre plot, the hospital was designed to cater to the basic needs of the disadvantaged population in the Sastur area. With just 30 beds, a low cost building was designed and executed in phases. Whilst it is currently just a ground floor structure, there is room for further phase-wise expansion both horizontally and vertically.

The building is planned around a courtyard that allows daylight and ventilation into the interior. This reduces the air condition requirement to a minimum; apart from saving costs and being energy efficient, this also reduces the spread of infection in the building.

The building has been zoned for optimal hygiene. As you enter, the OPD and Imaging facilities can be seen. The second zone, further down, comprises of the male, female & childrens wards while the third zone comprises of the more sterile functions such as the OT, labour and delivery rooms.
