CSEB is not like regular fired clay bricks that used timbre. CSEB is a naturally-compressed, sundried earthen brick made of locally available red soil, sand, and murum(deep red/brown soil found in tropical regions) which is low-cost and environment-friendly. These bricks were manufactured on-site by a block-making machine. This reduces transportation costs and material wastage as well as carbon emissions. As a result CSEB is being used on this scale anywhere across the world.
SUHRC building is strategically positioned by IMK Architects to minimize the cut-and-fill of the hill site. The firm also created a balance between light and shade with adequate skylights, inner courtyards, and terraces gardens. The entire hospital campus has turned into a biophilic space that promotes the early healing of admitted patients.
