Brahmaputra Hospital

"A well designed building on a precarious piece of land, the Brahmaputra Hospital is an example of responsible design"

The Brahmaputra hospital was built on a low-lying site, around an artificial lake. Since the river by the facility tends to overflow, the building had to be adequately raised to fully protect it from floods.

During the design phase, it was decided that all the patient rooms would overlook the lake. Since nature is widely believed to be curative, we wanted all sick persons to have access to the idyllic scenery and beautiful views.

All the patient rooms were built on one side, and all the investigation and procedural areas on the other, to make navigation easier. We have worked to bring in maximum daylight and natural ventilation in all the waiting areas. The cost of building was controlled by providing the most suitable structural grid for each function.
