multispeciality hospital for konkan unnati mitra mandal

"The Worli Hospital in the heart of Mumbai is a modern, well-planned complex for both patients and their families"

This 350 bed multi-specialty hospital complex has been designed as two adjacent towers, one as a hospital block and the other as a complimentary one. The second building has additional features including a bank, restaurant, a fitness center, executive offices, accommodation for doctors and nurses, and service apartments for out-station relatives of patients.

The contrast of the curve of the hospital block and the extrusion of the complimentary tower not only visually separate the components of the brief, but also creates a landmark in terms of form. It was important for us to have an iconic hospital building that was also functionally superior.

The building is designed with a modular steel frame grid, which will allow flexibility of use in the future. Sealed triple glazing systems for the façade add a modern touch and make the structure maintenance free. The internal layouts are sensitively planned to maximise views and natural light, with special attention given to the higher wards and ITU floors.

Clear circulation paths for patients, visitors, doctors, staff, clean utility and dirty utility, as well as easy vehicular movement around the building, ensure sterility and efficiency.
