The Clients wanted an administrative building that would represent the global presence of the brand Sun Pharma. A modern landmark, the building was required to be economical and efficient.

The building is organized into three distinct zones – Administration, Human Resource and VIP Audit. Major building spaces open out into the large central court, a green lung between the built form.

Our primary design intention was to boost productivity by building a healthy working environment enriched with daylight and a connect to the outdoors. Iconic in form, a series of stepped landscaped terraces were planned to serve as break out spaces for the users at every other level. A climate sensitive initiative – the terraces reduce heat gain thereby increasing the thermal comfort levels of the inside.

The hot, oppressive climate of Halol offered cues to the design of the building facade. The building was designed with a tall, heavy wall on the south to block of the incoming glare and shade the central court. The building slowly spirals down into a lower, lighter façade with widely spaced fins that allowed northern light to filter into the interiors.
